Description
Viewing the National Carillon (a large keyboard-operated bell-tower in Canberra) from the centre of the ground up.
The carillon can only be accessed by an elevator which goes to about 50 metres (about 164 feet) above ground level. On Sundays and Wednesdays, recitals can be viewed on a television screen at ground level, but the sound of the bells can be heard as far away as the Parliamentary Triangle. This is in addition to the quarter-hour chimes which occur regularly.
